St. James deputies wrangle alligator in resident’s yard

ST. JAMES PARISH, La. (WDSU) —

Deputies with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office wrangled an alligator in a resident’s yard.

Wednesday morning, deputies responded to a call in reference to an alligator under a house in Lutcher.

Deputies were able to take the alligator into custody and relocated it to its natural environment.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to be aware that wildlife may come into residential neighborhoods and to call the sheriff’s office at (225) 562-2200 if anyone needs assistance.
