St. Thomas More set to host annual ‘Dancing to the Eagle Beat 2020’

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — St. Thomas More Catholic School hosts “Dancing to the Eagle Beat 2020” on March 7. Doors open at 6 p.m. and starting at 7 p.m., dancers will take the stage to compete for a coveted trophy and bragging rights.

Ahead of the event, fans may vote for their favorite dance couple on the event website. Each vote is $1. To view an entire list of the cast with headshots, visit here. A variety of local choreographers will also volunteer their time to train the participants.

Choreographer Brenda Buuck, along with dance duo Paul Ross, who is a parent of a STM alum and Lan Hoang, parent to current STM student, stopped by NBC Local 33 News to talk about the event. The trio were dressed in their best “Studio 54” attire. Buuck announced that the pair would be performing to Madonna’s hit song “Vogue.”

FOX 44 evening anchor Chad Sabadie and his wife Brooke, will be the emcees Saturday night. Judges for this year’s event are community members Melanie Couvillon, Michael Honore and Rob Rau.

Music will play until midnight after the winners are announced. The event is open to the public. For those you may not be able to attend, a livestream of the event can be seen here.
