BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The hits keep coming for the LSU Tigers.

Star cornerback and likely top five pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, Derek Stingley, Jr. is out indefinitely.

Derek Stingley, Jr. missed the most recent home loss to Auburn.

Head coach Ed Orgeron announced that the All-American cornerback had a procedure done on his foot.

There is currently no word on when Stingley Jr. could return to the field.

That is not stopping #7 from wanting to return this year:

“I appreciate all of the support from LSU and the fans,” Stingley Jr. said. “I’m doing all that I can to return to the field as soon as possible. I want to finish out the season with my teammates and I will do everything I can to get healthy so that I will be able to play again this year.”

LSU heads to Lexington to play Kentucky on Saturday, October 9.
