Tropical Storm Barry is still having an effect on local organizations.
The Office of State Fire Marshal’s Baton Rouge headquarters is not open to the public on Monday.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office stated why their HQ is not open to the public in a statement below:
Due to the housing of emergency response personnel and resources for Tropical Storm Barry, the Office of State Fire Marshal’s Baton Rouge headquarters building, located at 8181 Independence Boulevard, will be closed to the public on Monday, July 15.
The agency’s normal operations, however, will be business as usual inside of the facility. Members of the public in need of Plan Review and/or Inspection consultation and scheduling in the Baton Rouge area can still address those needs by accessing the Information Management System (IMS) located on our website lasfm.org. A listing of staff members in all of the agency’s departments, complete with phone numbers and email addresses, can also be found on the website for direct contact needs.
In addition, general agency inquiries can be addressed by calling the office’s main phone line 225-925-4911 or 1-800-256-5452.
We thank the public for their cooperation as our agency reverts back to normal operations for a full opening of the headquarters facility on Tuesday, July 16.
