BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Minnesota investment firm purchased a student living complex near LSU for $15 million.

The Tailwind Group bought the Sterling student living, a 340-unit apartment complex on Highland Road. According to official documents from the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court, the property was bought for $15 million. Prior to the sale, it belonged to a Delaware company.

According to the Tailwind Group’s website, they acquire and manage multiple student-living properties across the nation. The assets will be rebranded and have major capital improvements.

Sterling resident Timia Freeman said she received an email from the Sterling student living about the property being under new management. She said the email did not contain information about any changes in her rental rates.

BRProud reached out to the Tailwind Group but has not received a response yet.
