BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) ––– Thousands of students are making their way to Southern University’s campus to move into their dorms ahead of the start of the semester.

“We’ve been preparing all summer for moving in for our freshman students, and we’re happy that they’re back,” said the Director of Residental Life at Southern University, Tracie Abraham.

Both on and off-campus organizations are prepared to help families move their students in. When students check in at one of the many tents around the dorms, they will receive their keys and can begin moving into their new rooms.

Abraham adds that they are moving students into Totty Hall and James Hall, primarily Freshman dormitories, today and will open the other dormitories tomorrow.

Keeping COVID-19 precautions in mind, students had to submit their vaccination status or a negative test before moving in today.
