Supporters greet President Trump as he arrives in South Louisiana

CAMERON PARISH, La. (KLFY)- A number of President Trump’s supporters were present today to catch a glimpse of the commander in chief.
 
Trump arrived at the the Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles at about 1 p.m this afternoon.
About 100 people greeted the president as he arrived at the airport before heading to Hackberry to tour the Sempra Energy lng facility.
 
“We support Trump because we think he’s doing his best for this country,” said Leonard Lemmons, who traveled from Deville to show support for the president who is seeking a second term in office. “We don’t see anybody on the other side even trying to help.”
 
Aboard Air Force One with the president were Sen. John Kennedy, Sen. Cassidy and U.S. Congressman Steve Scalise. Congressman Clay Higgins met with the president before touring the facility. 
 
“He understands that American energy dominance has been born right here in Louisiana that I’m honored to serve that is primarily is the epicenter of that growth.” 


Leighann Leonards, a resident of Sulphur, said the president’s visit is important to the industry. 

“I love that he’s coming to Hackberry for the industrial plant,” she said. “I love that he’s playing attention to our state. I just love our president.”

“I’m Trump’s No. 1 fan in South Louisiana,” said Pat Hassien.
