BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – One day after Louisiana recorded its 3rd highest single day total for COVID-19 cases, the surge in cases continues throughout the state.
There has been an increase of 15 deaths in the state since Wednesday, July 21.
There are 2,843 new coronavirus cases in the state, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Louisiana Department of Health also reported that there have been 10,889 deaths total in the state from the novel coronavirus.
There are now 426,427 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
There are now 913 COVID-19 patients in hospitals which is an increase of almost 70 patients in the last 24 hours.
According to LDH, 1,696,163 people have finished the COVID-19 vaccine series.
