Suspect accused of calculating theft from local Walmart

HAMMOND, La. (BRPROUD) – The Hammond Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the photo below.

The man in the picture allegedly took nine Texas TI-84 Plus calculators from the Walmart on West Thomas St.

According to the Hammond Police Department, “On August 3, 2021, a detective from the Hammond Police Department was working an off-duty security detail at Walmart, located at 2799 West Thomas Street, when he was contacted by Walmart’s loss prevention department regarding a theft.”

An investigation ensued and the person in the picture was seen placing nine calculators in an empty box on July 29.

The same person returned to the Walmart on July 30 “and purchased the item pictured on the box, stealing the calculators that were hidden within the box,” according to the Hammond Police Department.
