THIBODAUX, La. (BRPROUD) – A Thibodaux man is behind bars after a recent arrest on St. Mary St.

Officers with the Thibodaux Police Department were on patrol overnight on Tuesday, June 21 when they saw “a suspicious subject walking from the parking lot of business located in the area,” according to the Thibodaux Police Department.

That subject has been identified as Zachary Cole, 28.

TPD says, “Mr. Cole admitted to officers that he had burglarized two vehicles in the parking lot, where Mr. Cole was found in possession of some items taken.”

Further investigation found that Mr. Cole burglarized a third vehicle.

Cole is charged with three counts of Simple Burglary – Motor Vehicle (Felony).

The 28-year-old is being held in the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on $15,000 bond.

“Locking your vehicles and removing any valuables can go a long way in the protection of your property,” said Chief Zeringue. “Many burglars are looking for unlocked, easy targets.”
