BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department was recently patrolling in north Baton Rouge when an older model Honda Civic was seen in a carwash.
The carwash was in the 3500 block of Riley St. and the officer “had observed this same car sitting in the same stall for several hours” that night, according to the affidavit.
The officer went to check on the condition of the person in the vehicle.
That person was identified as Michael Anderson, 38, of Baton Rouge.
The affidavit states that Anderson was found “sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.”
The responding officer did see a pill bottle in the vehicle which checking on Anderson.
Anderson admitted that the pill bottle had Xanax pills in it.
The Baton Rouge man was taken into custody and the vehicle was searched by the officer.
A search of the vehicle uncovered the items seen below:
- Suspected MDMA powder
- Baggie of suspected synthetic marijuana
- Pregabalin pills
- Vimpat Lacosamide pill
- Baggie with suspected Methamphetamine
- Two glass pipes
- Two digital scales
Anderson “admitted to having knowledge of the Xanax, suspected MDMA powder, and suspected marijuana,” according to the affidavit.
The Baton Rouge man was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Wednesday, September 7.
The 38-year-old was charged with the crimes listed below:
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession Schedule I
- Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoid
- Possession of Schedule II
- Possession\Distribution Manufacturing Schedule IV
- Possession of Schedule V
Bond has not been set for Michael Anderson.
