NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) —A Jewish Cemetery is cleaning up after someone spray-painted swastikas outside their cemetery.
The swastikas were seen at the Gates of Prayer Cemetery on Joseph Street.
David Gerber, Senior Rabbi, said neighbors have stepped up to help clean up the graffiti.
“It’s painful to see graffiti like that the nazi imagery is painful it brings up memories it’s brings a sense of fear among our people we don’t believe this was indicative of any sort of threat or movement,” said Gerber.
The city said it is aware of the incident and is investigating.
