Teenager charged with 1st Degree Murder after deadly shooting on Linwood St.


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of a reported shooting on Tuesday night.

The deadly shooting took place at approximately 9:40 p.m. and took the life of 29-year-old Kendrick Gibson, of Baton Rouge.

Gibson was one of two individuals found shot on Linwood St.

The other shooting victim has been identified as a 29-year-old man.

The suspect in this deadly shooting is a 16-year-old.

The shooting took place “following a physical altercation,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The 16-year-old is currently in Juvenile Detention and faces these charges:

  • 1st Degree Murder
  • Attempted 1st Degree Murder
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon

The investigation into this deadly shooting remains open.
