Teens charged with stealing Ascension Parish school buses; causing damage to school

Four teens face a list of charges after Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies said they stole three buses and caused damage to Donaldsonville High School.

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, deputies responded to Donaldsonville High School on Wednesday shortly before 7 p.m. in reference to three school buses being damaged with two buses striking an exterior wall of the school.

There were no reported injuries and the building sustained moderate damage to the exterior.

As the investigation continued, detectives said they learned that four teens walked on the high school campus after hours and entered the school buses and drove the buses in the parking lot before striking the exterior of the building.

Four teens have been identified and charged in connection with this case after detectives reviewed surveillance video of the incident.

The teens are charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespassing, felony criminal damage to property, three counts of simple burglary, and three counts of unauthorized use of a movable.
