It was a day of peaceful vibrations across Downtown Baton Rouge.
The Red Stick Peacemakers presented the 6th Annual Peace Fest. Those who attended the event said the rain would not stop their fun.
Victoria Burges said, “He told me about it last night, and we decided to come. Come rain or shine.”
“They said they were moving it and we would be here no matter what,” said Marshall Mathern.
The founder of the festival, Beth Zagurski said it started six years ago, when she decided to put on an event to promote meditation and living a healthy lifestyle.
” I had this feeling that there was a community filled with all of these wonderful healers and we just didn’t have a way to connect and to be seen in the community, ” said Zagurski.
Yoga, live art and belly dancing were just some of the things festival goers got to experience. Rachel Gleason, the owner of Penelope Indigo, said this event came at the right time.
Gleason said, “Everyone I have met here as been super helpful, and all of the people I already know here I’ve met at other shows but its really good to see us all supported by it.”
