The Louisiana State Police honored fallen Zachary Police Department Officer Christopher Lawton with the raising of the U.S. Honor Flag over the Louisiana State Capitol.

DPS Lt. Jarrell and Sgt. Moran had the honor of raising the flag Saturday March 31 at the State Capitol in honor of Lawton who has been referred to as the “double hero” for having served as both a police officer and Deputy Chief with the Zachary Fire Department after he unfortunately died in the line of duty.

Since September 2001, the The United States Honor Flag has paid tribute to those who have lost their life in the line of duty protecting our lives, our homes, and our country and also those who currently serve our communities and our nation.
