BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There are thousands of restaurants in the capital area that feature a variety of beloved local favorites.

But for some reason, there are those afternoons when the only thing a hungry Louisianan wants is an Egg McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit from McDonald’s.

There was a time, in the pre-COVID era, when it would have been possible to order breakfast from McDonald’s in the afternoon.

And last Thursday (September 1), after McDonald’s appeared to tweet that it was bringing back All Day Breakfast nationwide, it looked as though fans of breakfast from the golden arches would be able to do so again.

But McDonald’s has confirmed that it’s not going to happen.

The company confirmed that the press release in the tweet was out of date and from the pre-pandemic era. Apparently, the 2015 press release and tweet was accidentally tweeted recently.

The fast food restaurant’s all-day breakfast service was ended during the early days of the pandemic for the sake of the company’s food service workers, and it isn’t expected to return anytime soon.

Most local McDonald’s locations serve breakfast from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m.

That said, if you’re interested in grabbing a late breakfast or brunch, you might want to try the restaurants below:
