The Salvation Army is providing hot meals for those without power.

The Salvation Army will serve hot meals from its Community Center and Church at 4025 W. Brookstown Drive to those who have been without power since Friday in the surrounding area. Jambalaya, cold drinks, and snack bags will be provided from 5:00pm-6:00pm while supplies last. In addition to serving dinner, a cell-phone charging station will be provided.

“It is central to our mission that we serve wherever the need may be. In this case, our own neighborhood needs our help while many still have no means of cooking. We hope to be able to serve a meal, provide a smile and spiritual care to as many as we can tonight,” said Major Donald Tekautz.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, July 16, 2019) non-perishable item food boxes will be distributed at the same address from 10:00am – 12 noon or while supplies last.

Those in need of assistance following Tropical Storm Barry should call The Salvation Army’s local Director of Operations at 225-954-0454 or our Assistant Incident Commander 225-326-0726.
