The state’s push to curb COVID-19 cases, Governor’s Executive Order

“I cannot stress enough that this is a very serious situation and demands and equally serious response.”

Governor John Bel Edwards is now calling on the entire state to help curve the number of Covid-19 cases.

“On a per capita bases we have one of the highest rates of Covid-19 spread positive cases in the country.”

Over a few hours, the number of cases jumped by 22 bringing the total number of positive cases to 136.

“All of us in every community will feel the effects of the pandemic, most of us will become infected over the next many months.”

the state now has its third Covid-19 related death and Catherine O’neal with Our Lady of the Lake said, we can expect that number to rise.

“We will see people hospitalized at great rates with this infection in this state and we will see people die” said O’Neal.

Edwards said, they are now ramping up their efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus.

“We know that we are one of the hot spots across the country.”

Now with an Executive Order in place to curve the spread.

“We are taking these measures on behalf of all our people young and old, healthy and sick.”

Gov. Edwards said, it’s up to everyone in the state to do their part.

“We all have a role to play in not just protecting ourselves but our fellow Louisianans.”
