BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The chaos at the Capitol is still part of many conversations, 24 hours after it all started.
We wanted to know your thoughts about it. Most people we tried to talk to didn’t want to talk on camera because of fear of some sort of retaliation. We did find one man and one woman who were willing to go on camera. They said what happened in DC is not America.
“I think that storming the capitol was the worst thing that could have happened, but moreso I’m really confused. The law enforcement agencies and the District did not treat those rioters the same that they did the black lives movement protesters,” said one woman.
“I just want to know why, I guess. Why they felt the need to storm in and felt the need to break glass and do all that and cause damage and that kind of thing. It just doesn’t seem that important, but I guess it depends on the reason why they’re doing it. So, if they don’t like the elections, it sounds like a personal problem. America is all about, that’s the good thing about being here is that you can choose who you want to believe in or whatever or who to follow, but at the end of the day, like, I guess the winner is the winner so you kind of have to accept that in a sense. There are other ways to do it, peacefully or not. I think peacefully is the best route,” said one man.
