Theatre Baton Rouge is getting ready to kick off their 75th season with the powerful drama, ‘American Son’.
Written by Christopher Demos-Brown, ‘American Son’ tells the story of an estranged bi-racial couple who must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by local police following a traffic stop. Their disparate histories and background inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.
Director Greg Williams, Jr. says the theatre is keeping safety at the forefront as we continue to experience the coronavirus pandemic. Audience members will be required to wear face masks at all times in the theatre and seats will be spaced out to follow social distancing guidelines.
The show opens at Theatre Baton Rouge Friday, September 25 and runs through October 4. Tickets are now available and can be purchased here.
