Therapy dogs bring smile to local pediatric burn patient

BRG: "A lead “reindeer” and a special team of elves are helping to make his spirits bright."

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – No one wants to spend time in the hospital around Christmas, especially a seven-year-old boy.

Seven-year-old Brantley Murray is at Baton Rouge General’s Regional Burn Center after an unfortunate accident over the weekend.

Brantley has two dogs at home and he misses them while staying in the hospital.

Baton Rouge General knew this and found a way to bring a smile to Brantley’s face.

On Tuesday, Finn the golden retriever, and his “dad” Frank, paid a visit to Brantley in the hospital.

The family’s Elfs on the Shelf somehow made it into the hospital room where Brantley enjoyed some doggy snuggles.

According to Baton Rouge General, “The nurses report this is the first time they’ve seen Brantley smile since Saturday.”
