Third person arrested in Perkins sex abuse investigation

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (LOCAL 33)( FOX 44) – The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a third person involved in the Livingston Parish sexual abuse case involving a former Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputy and his school teacher wife.

Melanie B. Curtin, 41, of Denham Springs, was booked in the Orleans Parish Prison Saturday morning as a fugitive from Livingston Parish, according to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

Curtin will be transferred to the Livingston Parish Detention Center, where she’ll be booked on one count of first degree rape and one count of video voyeurism, the AG’s Office revealed.

Curtin’s arrest is part of an ongoing sex abuse investigation that was made public after Dennis and Cynthia Perkins were arrested in October on 60 counts of producing child pornography involving a juvenile under the age of 13 and two counts of first degree rape.

Dennis Perkins also faces charges relating to sexually abusing a dog and attempted rape.
