BATON ROUGE, La. (WDSU) — During Gov. John Bel Edwards’ Friday news conference, he released more information about contact tracing efforts in the state.

According to Edwards, nearly 300 contact tracers have been trained and will be in place to begin working.

Edwards said contract tracers with Louisiana Department of Health will call people who have come into contact with someone who tested positive with COVID-19 will call from the number 877-766-2130.

Those called are expected to self quarantine and follow instructions provided by contact tracers.
