Three children among those who escape early morning fire on N 17th St.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to 1836 N 17th St. a little before 2:15 a.m. on Friday, September 3.

Firefighters arrived in a little under ten minutes and found “one adult and three kids made it out of the home unharmed.”

The fire was located in the rear bedroom of the home.

Firefighters went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

The fire was extinguished in around ten minutes.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “The fire was contained to the rear bedroom and bathroom but the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage.”

The home sustained $25,000 in damages and no one was hurt because of this fire.

Fire investigators are still working to figure out what started the early morning fire.

EMS, BRPD and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
