Three finalists chosen in search for Southern University Ag Center chancellor-dean

The search for the next chancellor-dean for Southern University’s Ag Center is almost complete.

Friday, the search committee presented three finalists for the position to Southern University System President Ray Belton.

After several months in the search process, six candidates were interviewed by the committee and made presentations to faculty, staff and students on Thursday.

The three finalists that will move forward in the process are: 

Dr. Calvin Walker, current interim chancellor-dean of the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center/College of Agricultural, Consumer and Family Sciences.

Dr. Andra Johnson, vice chancellor for research and technology development at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center.

Dr. Orlando F. McMeans, vice president for research public serviceat West Virginia State University.

 The candidates will be formally presented to the Southern University System Board of Supervisors during its monthly meetings on July 18-19 in Baton Rouge.
