GRAND ISLE, La. (WDSU) – Three people were rescued Tuesday when a boat capsized near Grand Isle.
The Coast Guard Sector New Orleans was notified about 8 p.m. Tuesday that a 17-foot bass boat was taking on water with three people on board.
Officials said the Coast Guard launched it’s MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter air crew and found the three people — a man and two women — who had swam to the rock jetty nearby when the vessel capsized.
The aircrew hoisted the two women into the helicopter and they were brought back to the air station in New Orleans. The man who was with the women was rescued by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office’s marine division, officials said.
All three individuals are in stable condition.
