BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Tim Robbins and Sister Helen Prejean will attend a screening of “Dead Man Walking” at the Manship Theatre.

The movie first hit theatres in the United States on Dec. 29, 1995. According to IMDb, the movie was filmed in Angola. It starred Sean Penn as Matthew Poncelet and Susan Sarandon as Prejean. Robbins directed.

A special screening will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25.

After the movie, there will be “a post-show discussion with Director Tim Robbins and the film’s subject, Sister Helen Prejean,” according to the Manship Theatre.

“Dead Man Walking” received multiple awards and nominations. Sarandon won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and both Robbins and Penn were nominated in connection with the movie.
