Tip leads to arrest of man accused of shooting his dad


A man accused of shooting his father is now in jail after being on the run for a week.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said Charles Lee Brown was arrested Friday at a vacant house in the 4000 block of Winnebago Street. 

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office released a new photo of suspect, Charles Lee Brown, on Sept. 28.

Investigators said a Crime Stoppers tip and the assistance of the LSP Fugitive Task Force and BRPD helped arrest Brown.

Detectives said Charles Lee Brown shot his dad at approximately 4:48 last Friday afternoon in the 10000 block of Northdale. 

Deputies arrived immediately on scene Friday afternoon and setup a perimeter. The BRPD helicopter and EBRSO K-9 assisted in the search for Brown, but to no avail. Brown’s father was taken to the hospital.

Brown faces charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Firearm.
