Tips on how to reduce cravings for unhealthy foods, sugar

News

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at an empty bag of chips you just devoured, you’re not alone.

Your brain is wired to eat that chip and the next ten.

Doctors say sugar, salt and fat bypass our fullness mechanisms, which is why you can eat all those snacks without feeling full.

So, if you want to cut those cravings here’s some advice:

  • Reduce the hidden sugars in your diet
  • Read the first five items in the ingredients list to see if there’s any added sugars or sucrose

Next, embrace new flavors like sour and bitter and maintain portion control.

Instead of eating those chips out of the bag, portion your snacks to resist overeating.
