Tis’ the season to walk: Baton Rouge gas prices rise over the Thanksgiving weekend


Unfortunately, not everything was cheaper on Black Friday weekend.

According to GasBuddy’s daily survey, Baton Rouge gas prices rose to an average of $2.12 per gallon, 0.3 cents higher than a month ago and 5.2 cents per gallon cheaper than a year ago.

GasBuddy reports that the cheapest station in Baton Rouge is priced at $1.92 per gallon while the most expensive station is priced at $2.69 per gallon.

Although the average price in Baton Rouge has slightly risen, the national average price of gasoline has fallen 1.6 cents in the last week but is still 14.7 cents higher than a year ago.

The lowest price in the state is $1.93 and the lowest price in the country is $1.71.

The highest price in the state is $2.96 and the highest price in the country is $4.99.
