Democratic incumbent Gov. John Bel Edwards will face two Republican challengers, U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham and Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone, at the Belle of Baton Rouge hotel.

The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.

The forum comes days after Nexstar Media Group — which runs BRProud.com — hosted the first statewide-televised gubernatorial debate of the 2019 campaign season.

The luncheon also comes as JMC Analytics releases the first public poll showing Rispone in second place, ahead of Abraham. Edwards leads the poll with 46 percent, with Rispone holding 21 percent and Abraham at 18 percent.
