TRAFFIC ALERT: Highway 942 is back open, one driver hurt in two-vehicle crash




Good news, Highway 942 has reopened to traffic, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.


As of 7:50 a.m., one lane of Highway 942 has reopened to traffic.


The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms this was a two-vehicle crash.

The driver of one of the vehicles is being transported to a local hospital.

APSO said, the driver of the second vehicle involved in this accident does not appear to have any injuries.

Heads up Ascension Parish commuters, a major accident has closed a road completely on Friday morning.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, there was a “major accident at Highway 942 and St. Elmo Street.”

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route.

APSO said authorities are “working on opening one lane now.”

It is unknown at this time whether anyone was injured in this accident.
