CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – On Sunday, October 9, a member of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dylan Parker, 21, of Pride.

The stop took place on Arleen Ave. around 12:30 a.m. and Justin Akins, 39, of Zachary, was a passenger in the vehicle.

An expired inspection sticker was seen on the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu and Parker’s eyes were bloodshot and “appeared dazed,” according to the affidavit.

The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle before the request for a traffic stop.

Akins was taken into custody after the deputy saw “a white powder substance in clear plastic on the floorboard of the driver seat,” according to the affidavit.

It was later determined that the bag contained .12 grams of cocaine.

A subsequent search of Justin Akins uncovered these items listed below:

Parker would confess that the white “substance on the floorboard was powder cocaine,” according to the affidavit.

The amount of “white powder substance on the driver floorboard” came out to 0.81 grams.
