LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office recently executed a traffic stop in Raceland.
The traffic stop involved a white van occupied by the driver, Travis Barlow, 34, of Raceland and passenger, Jacob Barlow, 27, of Gheens.
Both “were arrested during the traffic stop which followed an incident at a residence in which Jacob Barlow faces other charges,” according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The white van had a trailer attached to it and was missing a license plate.
LPSO says, “A K-9 deputy on scene alerted to the possible presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.”
A search of the vehicle and Jacob Barlow ensued during which deputies uncovered these items:
- Marijuana
- Methamphetamine
- Several firearms
- Cocaine and crack cocaine
“During the traffic stop, deputies learned the Barlows had been involved in an incident that had just taken place at a residence on Hyland Drive in Gheens,” according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
While putting firearms into a vehicle, Jacob Barlow is accused of taking one of them, aiming it at a woman and making shooting noises.
LPSO says, “Deputies learned Jacob Barlow had been sending messages to a woman, threatening to kill her and her family.”
Travis Barlow is facing these charges:
- Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Marijuana
- No license plate
Jacob Barlow is charged with
- Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- Terrorizing
- Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Cocaine
- Crack cocaine
- Marijuana
- Stolen firearm
Travis and Jacob Barlow were taken to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex and both subsequently bonded out.
