LABADIEVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – A deputy with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office requested a vehicle stop after seeing a driver commit a traffic violation.

The driver of that vehicle was Jamiah Deron Harris, 30, of Labadieville.

The stop happened on LA 398 and Harris was found to be “driving under a suspended driver’s license,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Latreec Mone Young, 30, of Labadieville, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

APSO said, “The deputy noted a pungent odor of suspected synthetic marijuana.”

The deputy spoke with both Harris and Young and then proceeded to search the vehicle.

The search uncovered drug paraphernalia and synthetic marijuana.

The duo was arrested and their charges are listed below.

Jamiah Deron Harris:

  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Improper Lane Usage
  • Driving Under a Suspended License

Latreec Mone Young:

  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Cannabinoids/Synthetic Marijuana

Harris and Young were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
