BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Officials say at least one person was injured in a Wednesday (October 26) wreck on Prescott Road at Joor Road, and the incident may have involved a stolen vehicle.
The crash occurred around 1:11 p.m., and according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO), it all started when a male driver who was apparently behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle saw an EBRSO unit and sped away.
EBRSO says while trying to avoid being spotted, the man crashed the vehicle on Prescott Road and sustained minor injuries to his leg.
Authorities add that rescuers with the fire department had to treat the man with a synthetic drug called NARCAN (Naloxone), which is often used to treat narcotic overdose in an emergency situation.
The driver’s identity has not been revealed at this time.
