BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) – Local leaders are looking to help members of the community stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic.
There are two upcoming protective mask distribution drive-up events taking place in District 7 and District 8.
THE DISTRICT 7 PROTECTIVE MASK DISTRIBUTION DRIVE- UP IS TAKING PLACE ON THURSDAY:
COVID-19 has impacted the lives of so many across the country, in keeping with CDC recommendations that everyone wear masks in public, Councilman LaMont Cole in partnership with Mayor Sharon Weston Broome, and Elm Grove Baptist will be distributing 1000 protective mask to the citizens of District 7 FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. The event will be held on Thursday, April 30,2020 from 9am-12pm at Elm Grove Baptist Church located at 1069 N. 38th Street Baton Rouge, La. 70802. Keeping our citizens healthy and safe is our mission. Together we will get through this.
THE DISTRICT 8 PROTECTIVE MASK DISTRIBUTION DRIVE- UP IS TAKING PLACE ON SATURDAY:
Councilwoman Denise Amoroso would like to invite citizens of District 8 to a mask distribution on Saturday, May 2, 2020, beginning at 10am – 12noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 15160 S. Harrells Ferry Rd. They also will be collecting hotel size shampoo & conditioner and soap for medical staff, so they can shower before leaving their health care facility and they are clean before going home.
