Two local student athletes commit to LSU, another commits to play soccer in Mississippi

St. Joseph’s Academy – Baton Rouge

It was a special day for three student-athletes at St. Joseph’s Academy.

Three young women committed to two universities during a signing ceremony in the school library.

Isabelle Brown and Virginia Dirks are headed to LSU and Madison Douget is committed to Belhaven University.

Brown and Dirks are going to run cross country and track for the Tigers.

“Signing with LSU was a great experience,” Brown said. “Seeing the family members, coaches, teammates, friends and teachers there to support me and the other signees was extremely heartwarming. I am excited to continue running collegiately to see how far I am able to push myself physically but also to have a unique college experience. I am very blessed to call the girls at LSU my teammates, and I can’t wait for the friendships, races and memories to come.”

Madison Douget is going to play soccer for the Blazers.

Douget says that she “was so excited to be able to sign in front of my friends, family and classmates because it meant so much to me that they were there and able to share this special moment with me,” she said. “I am looking forward to taking my soccer talents to the next level and playing collegiately.”

Well done Red Stickers!
