BATON ROUGE, LA — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating two men reportedly involved in an attempted carjacking just before midnight Saturday.

The victim told investigators he was traveling on Innovation Park Dr. near Gardere Lane, when he noticed a man standing in the roadway who appeared to be in distress.

When the victim stopped to check on the man, the suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. At the same time, a second armed suspect started banging on the passenger side window.

The second suspect entered the vehicle and demanded the victim hand over his vehicle. A brief struggle ensued in which the victim accelerated, causing the vehicle to run off the road and ultimately flip over.

The victim and second suspect were able to escape the vehicle. That is when the victim said he took off on foot and could here the two men firing gunshots in his direction.

The two suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a white Ford Mustang, according to the victim’s report.
