Two women allegedly take debit card from ATM and go on local shopping spree

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – The City of Gonzales Police Department is asking the public to help identify the two women seen in the pictures below.

CGPD says, “the two depicted females found a debit card at the Ascension Credit Union ATM machine located at 2430 S. Burnside Ave., following a transaction by the victim at 11:45 am on 5-31-21.”

From there, the two women are accused of going on a shopping spree with the stolen ATM card.

The duo allegedly hit multiple local businesses and used the ATM card to purchase items “totaling $1,236.48.”

The two suspects are accused of making seven unauthorized transactions at five different stores.

Law enforcement is asking the public to be on the lookout for a white (older-model) GMC Yukon.

Investigators believe that is the vehicle which was used during the illegal shopping spree.
