“Some days everything is flowing just right” said Henry Watson. “You sit here and you don’t even count the hours or the time” he said.
After nearly fifty years working with wood, the Pointe Coupee native and Louisiana ambassador is in his prime with no signs of slowing down.
“I fell in love with it” said Watson. “I went home every day and I would practice and practice on weekends everyday until I mastered what I saw in that wood and made it come to life” he said.
Now he’s helping bring to life the treasured history of his beloved Pointe Coupee Parish, with precise attention to detail.
“I take the same detail and everything and I put in it” said Watson. “Each one is a Watson” he said.
From New Roads to the Vatican and everywhere in between, Watson has created pieces of all sizes capturing the true essence of what makes Louisiana sharing.
“You never could hit the same stroke twice so each one you do is original and when I tell them it’s a Watson, baby you can’t get it nowhere else” Watson laughed.
