Uniquely Baton Rouge: New EBR Schools Superintendent on adjusting to Baton Rouge, goals for school district

News

BATON ROUGE, LA (BRPROUD) – As his Louisiana welcome tour continues, Dr. Sito Narcisse is already hard at work as the new Superintendent of Public Schools in East Baton Rouge Parish.

The 45-year-old has spent the last year and a half working as Chief of Secondary schools Washington, DC.

Before that he spent four years as a schools administrator in Tennessee.

He has also served as an associate superintendent with the Prince George’s County school district in Maryland.

Now he says he’s ready to transform schools in EBR Parish.

Narcisse is not naïve to the difficulties of taking over a school district, especially amid a pandemic.

The new Superintendent of Public Schools in EBR promises transparency and community involvement in leading a district that puts students and their families first.
