Uniquely Baton Rouge: Quint Davis on 10 years of Bayou Country Superfest

Uniquely Baton Rouge

This memorial day weekend, Bayou Country Superfest celebrates it’s 10 year anniversary and it’s return to Baton Rouge’s Tiger Stadium.

“There’s nothing like a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium” said legendary festival producer Quint Davis.  “It was really important for us to come back after two years and come back really strong if you will. A doubled up show is actually what we did” Davis said.

Over the last five decades, Davis’ name has become synonomous with New Orleans’ Jazz & Heritage Festival.  Now, he’s working to make Bayou Country Superfest, a super festival of its own.

“Bayou Country Superfest is not a tour it’s not a package” Davis said.  “There’s no other country festival that has this kind of combination of acts. Only in Baton Rouge” he added.

This year, Kenny Chesney is back as a headliner along with Florida Georgia Line, Dan & Shay, Kane Brown and Jason Aldean.

Gates open at 4:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, but the tailgaiting is sure to start even earlier.  For Davis, It’s all part of the appeal in making Bayou Country Superfest what it is.

“A festival will take on the personality of the people who come” Davis said.  “That’s what makes it and that’s what makes Bayou Country Superfest a big success” he added.
