UPDATE: Police officer from Louisiana arrested in Excessive Force Case enters not guilty plea during arraignment

UPDATE: MONROE, La. (8/25/2020)(KTVE/KARD) — Former Monroe Police Department Officer Jared Desadier was in court on Tuesday morning.

During the arraignment hearing, Desadier entered a plea of not guilty.

His first court date is now set for October 15, 2020, at 9 AM in Courtroom 9.


UPDATE: MONROE, La. (07/28/2020) 4:30 p.m.– The Monroe Civil Service Board met Tuesday afternoon. The board voted unanimously to extend the administrative leave for the four officers involved in the excessive force case involving Timothy Williams.

The Board was also made aware that Officer Jared Desadier has handed in a letter of resignation to the Monroe Police Department. During the meeting, it was also stated that Desadier’s lawyer, Michael Dubos, is planning to dismiss the appeal that sits in the 2nd Circuit Court.

The appeal was regarding Officer Desadier’s termination from 2017.


UPDATE: MONROE, La. (07/28/2020) — The arraignment date for Jared Desadier was set on Tuesday morning.

Desadier’s arraignment is scheduled for August 25, 2020 at 9 AM.


MONROE, La. (07/25/2020) — Monroe Police have confirmed, Jared Preston Desadier has been booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for second-degree battery and malfeasance in office. This is in connection to an excessive force incident between Monroe Police Officers and Timothy Williams.

Desadier’s bond is set at $30,000.
