BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the scene of a car fire around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22.

Firefighters arrived at the Raising Cane’s Dog Park parking lot and immediately went to work putting the fire out.

“The owner of the vehicle was walking their dog when he heard people talking about a car being on fire,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The vehicle owner saw that their car was the one on fire after returning to the parking lot.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and as you can see, damage was primarily to the battery compartment area.

Investigators believe that the cause of the fire was probably electrical.
