Victim identified in early morning motorcycle crash

One person is dead after an early morning crash involving a motorcycle in Baton Rouge, according to officials.  

Evelyn Carrasco, 40, of Baton Rouge died after she was struck by another vehicle while riding her motorcycle.  

The fatal accident happened on October 17 around 6 a.m. in East Baton Rouge Parish. 

Louisiana State Police said the accident occurred “on Siegen Ln. west of Perkins Rd.”

According to the Louisiana State Police, Carrasco was driving south on Siegen Ln. while Folakemi Stinson, 27 of Baton Rouge was driving east on Siegen Ln. and “made a left turn into the path of Carrasco’s motorcycle.”

LSP said, Stinson’s 2007 Hyundai Azera collided with Carrasco’s 2016 Yongfu motorcycle and Carrasco was thrown from the motorcycle.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Carrasco dead at the crash scene. 

The driver of the Hyundai Azera was wearing a seatbelt and did not suffer any injuries as a result of this crash. 

LSP said, “Stinson was cited for Failure to Yield and additional charges are pending.”
