VIDEO: Bear cub rescued from motel dumpster

KINGS BEACH, CA. (KLAS) — A bear family found itself in a predicament when one of the cubs got trapped in a dumpster at a California motel.

Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office were called to help out.

Tuesday morning Placer County Sheriff’s deputies received a call from a Kings Beach motel that a bear cub was trapped in their dumpster. When deputies arrived at the motel, they found the cub’s sibling trying to open the dumpster to rescue their trapped brother/sister. Deputies Bryant, Staley and Nevins quickly came up with a game plan to free the cub from the dumpster. Watch the video below to see how the bear cub was rescued. 🐻❤️

The young bear was crying for help and the mother and other cub were noticeably nervous about the situation.

A deputy solved the dilemma by putting a ladder in the dumpster allowing the youngster to climb out and be reunited with his family.
