VIDEO: Child nearly hit by vehicle that fails to stop for school bus

WABASHA COUNTY, MN (NBC News) — Video shows the moment a Minnesota fourth grader nearly gets hit by a driver who failed to stop for a school bus.

This video from January shows Zumbrota-Mazeppa Elementary School student Ambriel Johnson crossing the road as a driver swerves, nearly hitting her.

You can see the school bus with its stop-arm extended and the red lights flashing.

The video was released by the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Wabasha County Sheriff said they were able to find the 20-year-old driver later and he admitted it was him.

He pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor of failing to stop at a school bus-stop arm.
