BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A viewer was headed to East Baton Rouge from West Baton Rouge in the morning hours of Friday, April 8, when they caught this video on the Mississippi River Bridge.
By the time the viewer got to the scene around 8:20 a.m., they saw a truck already attached to a tow truck and the car in the video was behind the tow truck.
The viewer tells the rest of the story through their eyes.
Traffic was pushed all the way to one lane by the railing on the bridge.
The scene was cleared over the next 15 minutes or so and eventually the car in the video was able to turn around and head eastbound on the Mississippi River Bridge.
The viewer says they followed this vehicle in the far left lane and prayed the bumper and or muffler would not fall off.
The person who submitted this video did so out of fear that another accident could occur whether it be because of leaking oil or a falling bumper.
The viewer and driver of this vehicle did get off at the Convention St. exit.
When asked about this particular incident, BRPD said, “We encourage vehicles to clear the roadway and pull over to a safe area if possible.”
There is no word on the condition of the driver of the vehicle seen in the video.
